Joe is a first-year PhD student in the Horvath Lab. Previously, he completed a BSc in Biochemistry at Imperial College London and worked at AviadoBio supporting development of gene therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
 
In his undergraduate thesis, Joe used transcriptomics to compare mechanisms of regeneration between different tissue types in zebrafish. At AviadoBio, he worked with the Vector Sciences team to begin development of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors that target drug delivery to the brain.
